About Us
Over 35 years at the forefront of dental implantology
LASAK is one of the leading Czech manufacturers in the field of dental implantology and biomaterials for bone tissue regeneration. The company focuses on the research, development, manufacture and sale of medical devices, particularly dental and bone implants, bone tissue replacements and related products. It was founded by Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Strnad, MSc., Ph.D., and Igor Riedl, MSc., Ph.D.
LASAK has pursued its own research and development in cooperation with scientific institutions, universities and leading clinics in the Czech Republic and abroad. It focuses on modern osteoconductive biomaterials, including the regeneration materials PORESORB-TCP and OssaBase-HA, used as bone tissue replacements across a range of surgical disciplines.
In dental implantology, the company is best known for its IMPLADENT and BioniQ implant systems, used both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The long-term clinical success of the IMPLADENT and BioniQ systems has been documented in peer-reviewed professional journals.
LASAK places great emphasis on the quality, safety and regulatory compliance of its products. Our devices are manufactured in a controlled environment and meet the strict requirements for medical devices in Europe.

Our own research centre in Prague, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. A pioneer of the hydrophilic, osteoconductive surface treatment for titanium implants since 2000.
Certification and quality
EN ISO 13485:2016 certified quality management system. CE certification, clean areas validated to EN ISO 14644. MDR certificates under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 since 2023.

Over 35 years of innovation in implantology
Foundation of the company
Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Strnad, MSc., Ph.D. and Igor Riedl, MSc., Ph.D. founded LASAK to continue research into tissue replacements and implantology.
IMPLADENT — first titanium implant
The first implant system of the LASAK company, IMPLADENT, was launched on the market.
PORESORB-TCP
Launch of an innovative, fully synthetic tricalcium-phosphate-based material for bone tissue regeneration.
IMPLADENT 2.9
LASAK became one of the first implantology companies to manufacture narrow implants with a diameter of just 2.9 mm.
BIO-surface — a breakthrough innovation
Development of a hydrophilic, nanostructured surface treatment for dental implants. It stimulates osteogenic cell attachment and enables immediate loading.
ProImplant temporary implants
Launch of one-piece temporary ProImplant implants with a self-tapping thread for immediate fixed provisional restorations.
OssaBase-HA
Introduction of a synthetic bone regeneration material based on hydroxyapatite with a low substitution rate.
New managing director
Ing. Jakub Strnad, Ph.D. takes over the management of the company after more than a decade with the firm, having joined in 1998.
Czech Scientific Award 2010
LASAK is awarded the prestigious "Česká hlava" (Czech Mind) award in the Industry category for innovating a dental implant system that includes the BIO-surface.
Research centre
Opening of a specialized Research and Development Centre in Prague-Hloubětín, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for research, development and professional training.
BioCam
Launch of the BioCam CAD/CAM system for precisely milled implant-supported restorations without connecting elements.
BioniQ — a new generation of implants
Launch of the BioniQ implant system, representing twenty years of experience in manufacturing dental implants.
Narrow BioniQ S2.9 implants
LASAK expanded the BioniQ implant system with narrow S2.9 implants and the new QN prosthetic platform.
BioniQ Plus implant
The BioniQ implant system was expanded with BioniQ Plus implants featuring a polished 1.7 mm collar, designed mainly for the distal area.
Guided surgery
As part of digital implantology, LASAK offers solutions and services for both pilot and fully guided surgery with the BioniQ implant system.
Lifetime warranty on BioniQ
LASAK introduces a lifetime warranty on BioniQ implants. Failed implants are replaced without delay — an expression of confidence in our own products.
Guided surgery for the edentulous jaw
Fully guided BioniQ surgery now also enables prosthetically driven, individualized treatment of edentulous and partially edentulous jaws.
MDR certification
Issuance of certificates in compliance with European Regulation (EU) 2017/745 — MDR — for dental implants and components.

Founders
The people behind LASAK
Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Strnad, MSc., Ph.D.
b. 1939
Co-founder of LASAK s.r.o. A graduate in chemical technology, he worked as a consultant for the Japanese company Nippon Electric Glass Ltd. Since 1991 he has driven the company's vision toward bioactive implant surfaces. He currently serves as Head of Clinical Research.
Igor Riedl, MSc., Ph.D.
1933–2004
Co-founder of LASAK s.r.o. A graduate of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, he served as head of research at Sklo Union. From 1991 he held the position of Economic and Business Director. He died in a traffic accident on 5 July 2004.
